Practicalities > ESPCR Conference dinner

The ESPCR Conference Dinner and Awards ceremony will be held at the nearby Mercure Marseille Centre Vieux Port Hotel.

We will gather on the top floor terrace, with a fantastic sunset view of the Antique Port (and its archeological vestiges in the eponymous park) and the Vieux Port, and eat at the Oursinade rooms.

The hotel is connected to a shopping mall that, when it was first built and the parking lot dug, enabled archeologists to discover and preserve unique finds from the history of this ancient trading port where Phoenicians docked 2,600 years ago. These are presented in the adjacent Marseille History Museum (open 9am-6pm, Tuesday to Sunday), for which a telephone app in multiple languages as well as audioguides can enrich the experience of a visit.

Dinner will be a full sit-down meal from a selection of vegetarian, fish or meat-based local specialties and desserts, and is accompanied by water or red, white and rosé Provençal wines.
